Founded in 2006, the independent research and consulting Movie Research Ñompany (MRC) has accomplished more than 60 projects related to cinema and movie research, including 10 industry projects, such as “Russian animated cartoon art” (2011), “Festival cinema of Russia” (2010), “Non-governmental cinema organisations of Russia” (2009), and the large-scale research of the cinema and DVD audience (2010), etc.
- The experts of Movie Research have provided sociological support to such renowned and successful Russian movies as "Ironiya Sud’by 2", "Kanikuly Strogogo Rezhima", "Chernaya Molniya", Admiral, Obitaemiy Ostrov, Yolki, Vykrutasy, etc.
- From 2007 the company has started publishing its statistical yearbook entitled “Movie Statistics” which contains exhaustive information on the current situation in the Russian cinema industry.
- Movie Research employs unique software and methodological developments, has its own database concerned with the situation in the Russian cinema industry, its own reliable sources of information helping to monitor and forecast, with a high degree of accuracy, the development dynamics of the cinema market.
- Ranking among the most active seminarians in the world of cinema, Movie Research regularly holds both independent and joint business events. In 2006, 2007 and 2009 the company organized the large-scale conference-forum “Russian Film Industry”.
- Since June 2010 Movie Research has been a strategic partner of the Cinema Fund, on behalf of which, the rating of Russian film-producers has been conducted. The survey helped to identify the top 8 leading film-making companies, that were granted funds for the production and distribution of full-length feature movies.
- The list of the company’s partners includes the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Russian Union of Cinematographers, the Gerasimov Russian State Institute of Cinematography, the Russian International Cinema Market, the International Forum and the Kino Expo Exposition and the Open Russian Film Festival “Kinotavr“.
